Ted Lieu, U.S. Representative from Los Angeles, appeared
on Real Time with Bill Maher S15E11 (April 7, 2017) and continued to push the truth forward, as CofA Blog continues to document the coup
taking place in USA today, quote transcribed here, begins just after seventeen minutes into the show on the Panel.

Bill Maher: Now we're
bombing both sides in a war. What happened to we've got to wipe out ISIS first?
[discussion as to whether Assad is for or against ISIS,
Maher thinks he is, and they can't agree)
18:35
Ted Lieu: It's not that
complicated. [LAUGHTER] What Assad did
was horrific, with the use of chemical weapons but the Constitution does not allow the President
of the United States to engage in unilateral acts of war without congressional
approval. Congress never authorized him-
[APPLAUSE]
BM: And let's not
forget, Obama begged them to do it. When they say Obama did nothing about the chemical
weapons, Obama did something. He went to
Congress and he said give me the authorization and they went like hmm hmm hmm
[Makes hear no evil, see no evil gesture] .
TL: So Obama tried
to follow the Constitution, what Trump did yesterday was illegal. You can't just fire cruise missiles into a
country that has not attacked the U.S. without Congressional
authorization.
20:00
BM: What worries me
is we're in the phase now with Donald Trump of, oh what does this button do? [LAUGHTER]
That's not good. And all through the campaign he and his
surrogates said about nuclear weapons, what good are they if we don’t use them.
More from Ted Lieu:
21:50
BM: How does the fact
he went up against Russia fit into the liberal idea that he was installed by
Putin as a stooge to do whatever Putin wanted, this is not what Putin wanted?
TL: If you're facing
possible collusion with Putin, you might just want to distract people. [APPLAUSE] It might be, we don't know, I've learned to
not predict Donald Trump.
But in this case what he did was not only unconstitutional,
there's no strategy. We don’t know what we're
doing in Syria, how long we're going to be there, he's got U.S. ground forces
in there now. and they're more at risk
of being attacked because he just attacked Assad. He has to tell the American people what we're
doing in Syria, he has not done that.
Maher readsTweets Trump sent out in 2013, including one saying, “If you attack Syria, bad things
will happen.”
Ted Lieu: He should follow his own advice.
