I wonder if this is USA anymore

I wonder sometimes if some hostile foreign power is really in charge of USA now and we just aren't being told. Because Nothing Makes Sense and yet it all continues. USA lost several recent wars, perhaps someone else has taken over but is not letting us know. I wonder.

If they don't let us know we are being taken over, we will not fight back

Those who call health mandates Nazi tactics are the main ones dying of covid. In the end, covid deniers will likely die in Holocaust-like numbers. They protest against public health wearing yellow stars like Jews had to in 1930s Germany, eerily predicting and enabling their own genocide.

Maybe covid infects people's brains in a way that makes them deny covid exists

Covid lies are not the only disinformation getting Americans killed, global warming has gone unchecked, and 2nd Amendment does not say stock up on weapons to shoot neighbors

Diminishing Covid to a simple flu is not the only disinformation message my neighbors are believing that is getting people killed. The claim that changing weather is just normal fluctuations in nature is another Big Lie that I think is part of an information warfare attack going on now against USA.  

If Russia is not at least one of the powers behind the weaponized disinformation, they are certainly among first to take advantage of it. Russia has been building up naval bases in the waterways opening up due to melting Arctic oceans and glaciers for years, especially lately, while most the populated world is fighting fires and floods. 

The same media outlets telling Americans not to get vaccinated because public health is tyranny have been telling us for decades that burning fossil fuel is not going to change the atmosphere in any drastic way, in fact plants love it. All anyone has to do is stand on the sidewalk of a freeway overpass during heavy traffic and feel the poisonous effect in real time to know that burning fossil fuels creates heat, and the way we're living is Not good for life on the planet that depends on air. 

Another more obvious way disinformation is killing Americans is the twisted interpretation of the Second Amendment that's resulted in billions of guns on the American landscape. Interestingly, one very publicly arrested foreign agent working for Russia recently was Maria Butina, who was helping them kill us through the NRA.  Americans now think the Second Amendment gives everyone a right to own military grade rifles that give them the freedom to plan attacks on their neighbors.

Wow, the disinformation warfare in USA is a lot like what happened in Rwanda in 1994 where tribe members were convinced by messaging coming from a radio station to pick up weapons and kill their neighbors. Today we call that event the Rwanda Genocide.  Hmm, then Fox News appeared in USA in 1995.

President Jimmy Carter was among first leaders to try to get Americans to stop our reliance on burning fossil fuels. The powers that be then used Iran to keep Carter from winning a second term.

Meanwhile my job works as a way to explain to my brainwashed neighbors why I'm staying away from them, as I mentioned in the post before this one. (LINK) My job which causes me to live such odd hours I rarely have anyone to spend time with is now my salvation. 

I can't attend any virus mini-spreader events taking place now, as Northern California redstate media consumers think the pandemic is over, because I have to start work at midnight, which means I'm in bed by 3 pm every day, even holidays or slow periods. 

I've been doing the same job pretty much since the 1980s when I lived one block from Sunset boulevard. At the time I was unemployable after job smashups in the NASA Newsroom in Houston and then Rogers and Cowan PR in Beverly Hills and I lived in a one room studio on Holloway Drive.  It was a time when freelance typing services thrived in the area, remember the firm Barbara's Place who sent women to John Belushi's hotel room with a portable Selectric to take down his ramblings the weekend before he died. I worked for one of their biggest competitors, only Studio Typing was a storefront at 8555 Sunset, half block from the top of the hill at La Cienega.

I started working there as an occasional typist, then soon was running the operation where we often had seventy Selectrics at a time running and an ever changing staff of freelancers from the area coming in and out to work as the number of jobs demanded.  Lots of writers who were working on screenplays and actors, musicians- other weirdos like me who don’t do well in regular employment- would flush out their incomes by coming in to work a few hours a week with us. Today I am doing pretty much the same job, turning interviews into transcripts, only now the work comes in through email.

Best way for me to get to Studio Typing from 8608 Holloway was to climb a vacant lot to the top of the hill, then cross Sunset. Even in 1985 I had an aversion to driving a car. Holloway House apartments were infamous in the gay world of West Hollywood then, as it was also one of the cheapest places to live that still had some panache in town.  As a result, along with gay men, most my neighbors were other older single females. 

Years later when I'd see old neighbors from Holloway House and they realized I'd had a baby as a single mom at age 40, they'd ask, where did you even find a heterosexual man to get you pregnant.

I found one. He lived downstairs. He assured me we did not need birth control as he'd had a vasectomy then when I came up pregnant, he shrugged and said, "I lied, I lied about a lot of things." He was a Russian. Hmm.

Americans chose Tucker Carlson lies over Anthony Fauci trying to save our lives. This battle is too big for me to fight alone...

Americans chose to believe purveyors of disinformation over sincere experts. They believed Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump instead of public health professionals and immunologists, they believed media celebrities getting paid seven figure salaries to read a script on Fox instead of scientists who dedicated their entire lives and moderately paid careers to trying to prevent illness and death.

It took decades to lay the groundwork for misinformation to have more credibility than persons whose whole lives have been dedicated to the truth. It started in 1995 with the appearance of Fox News in the lower 25 channels on cable news lineups, at a time when even broadcasting executives did not know the potential of that positioning. 

By the time Trump ran for office and then the coronavirus hit USA, there were two to three generations of Americans who had spent their entire lives listening to the disinformation, and believing it.

I still think this information warfare attack on USA was carried out by same parties who sent guys to America to go to flight school, then years later arranged for those select trained pilots to be on those select airline flights on Nine-Eleven 2001.

What scares me most now is how easy it was to get Americans to believe an obvious anti American message, just by putting it on a TV network with lots of red white and blue set decoration. A certain kind of human was the target of the disinformation, persons who already were angry and ready to feel hatred towards their fellow countrymen.  I have a feeling even the masterminds of this attack had no idea Americans would believe them so readily.

I'm repeating myself. 

Past two years or longer, I've posted this same stuff here at City of Angels Blog. Now it's just a matter of time before the spreading virus kills lots more people around me and there is nothing i can do. But blog about it. 

I can't even get a letter to the editor published trying to point out what's going on* I have no credentials, I'm not president of a non profit that specializes in any of the fields being used to carry out this attack. I can't even get the people who run my HUD building to realize the pandemic isn't over, which is the current sound byte of the attackers, spreading while hospital beds fill up with newly infected persons.  Or my local city council or county Board of Directors.

In my building are signs saying "Come July 22 to our Quarantine Free Barbecue" which promises to be a not so super virus spreading event, much like the recent Bingo Party in the lobby. At a Coffee with the Mayor in my town last week at the library so many people showed up they were shoulder to shoulder in a crowded room, and pictures show no one was wearing a mask.   

So it's only a matter of time before the whole state of California does what L.A. County is doing now, going back to mask mandates, after more people get sick and die and our medical infrastructure falls apart like it did as the virus first took hold in 2020. And patriots will once again shout that public health is tyranny.

All I can do is stay to myself and take care of me,  continue to avoid public areas of my building except in the middle of the night, telling anyone who questions me that my allergies are so bad I'm staying inside, which is in some ways true. Not completely, but it's a convenient way to keep the snarky misinformed from getting in my face to tell me sound bytes they heard on hate radio.

This is so much bigger than I am. Once the purveyors of weaponized disinformation saw how well this attack was going they branched out. At one point all the radio stations got purchased by Clear Channel and programmed with the "patriot" messaging. By the time Trump was in office, they got really brave, as now the person who is known as most powerful man in Earth was re-broadcasting their message from the White House.

It should surprise me that people bought into 4chan and QAnon as the message of hate they neighbor, arm yourself for a battle, and believe that mask wearing in a time of pandemic is a Communist Marxist tyrannical plot.  But by 2017 the attackers had their tin soldiers in line and ready. So MT Greene could look into a camera with a face awash in the glory of conspiracy and say, "Q is right.  No one knows who he is but Q is right," and get elected to Congress.

All I can do is stay to myself and ride this out. And write an occasional blog post to get rid of the arguments going round in my head. It does no good to try to explain to a neighbor one-on-one or even post comments on news articles and social media posts that are spreading the disinformation.

I just have to ride this out.

My technique to keep this from driving me to self destruction is to use my imagination. I pretend I'm on a looong space trip, when I look outside I'm watching the terrain of strange locations in space where the atmosphere is too hostile for me to go into it. I have lots of supplies, more get delivered in a way that I can leave the boxes in the lobby until night time when I can gather them up when no one is around. I tell myself I trained for years in advance so am capable of surviving this isolation for as long as it takes.

Then I pull out a movie or a book and wait.  And force myself not to care as more fellow citizens get sick and die. They bought into the lie, what happens to them now is out of my hands.

Some of the zombies live right up the hall from me, so I don't even pick up my mail until the middle of the night. It's starting

 "It's starting." Key characters in two Michael Lewis books say "It's starting" at pivotal moments. Both The Big Short and Premonition are true stories of very smart people who can see calamity coming while most the population is dancing a Charleston in denial, so to speak. In Big Short, Michael Burry says "It's starting" as the mortgage bubble is about to break in 2007 while investors keep betting on housing loans, and in Premonition, Charity Dean says "It's starting" as the covid virus is about to spread out of control while government scientists appear on TV saying, "It's okay to go dancing." Both books are true and feature key characters who can see what is happening before other people, not because they have mystical powers, but because they have autistic type brains that latch onto a topic and learn it so thoroughly they sound like prophets. "It's starting" is what I've been mumbling to my laptop as I read and sleep and do little else while the Big Heat of 2021 starts to take humans into the climate catastrophe that's been predicted and denied since the 1970s. As I absorb information as only a speed reader on the spectrum can and watch Americans dance a Charleston as wildlife washes up dead on banks and environmental managers wonder where the water went, I wish I'd meet the other seers out there; because realizing what's "starting" alone in a room in a strange town is, well, lonely. I keep having dreams where I'm somewhere different and surrounded by really smart people who also know what's coming, but I don't think we're on Earth anymore, so hope the dreams are prophetic. I also hope the likes of Michael Lewis and Charity Dean and Michael Burry will be there too.

Nothing will get better until we stop disinformation at the source. Our enemies are taking advantage of the First Amendment in USA. They know no matter what, we will allow them to continue to flood our airwaves with anti American information warfare. No amount of reasoning works on people who have been brainwashed until you undo the brainwashing. SHAME ON USA for allowing this to happen, we should have stopped Fox News as soon as this started. Now it's branched into radio, dark websites. They are empowered now, and until we deal with this as warfare, an attack using information as weapons against us, nothing will change. I cannot even LISTEN anymore as progressives talk about filibusters and dither along trying to reach out to persons who have bought into a narrative designed to destroy USA. We Have To Attack Back. Somehow. Since Russia and Saudis Hate Democracy, I can only surmise that they are behind this, and as progressives babble about "reconciliation" they are laughing at us. 

The USA is awash in radio-TV stations and websites that push us to hate each other and rile up anger. In the end, most of us don't know much more than what we've heard on radio-TV stations and websites... unless we read too.

I am leaving Amazon to shop online at Target and other stores after 14 years of cheerleading for Jeff Bezos. Here is why

Since 2007 I've been a cheerleader for Amazon, mostly because when I was in college in the 1970s I was a member of The Austin Video Users Club, a group of computer geeks and futurists. We knew a major transformation was coming as people started communicating with each other globally, but we didn't know it would be by computers. We thought the revolution would come in some form of home video. An article I wrote for a local paper got the headline "Soon you will talk back to your TV set." We hadn’t predicted the home computer, but we knew people would shop, get entertainment, and communicate personally over some form of what we now call the internet. In 1995 I got my first home computer and immediately signed on to AOL and started finding people with whom I have things in common.

So when I first saw Amazon, I was excited, thinking it was the culmination of all the predictions, and for a time it was. In 2007 I became a regular customer, first with books, then Amazon started offering household and kitchen items just as transporting around town became more difficult and stores became nerve-wrackingly crowded. Since 2007 every chance I got, I sang praises of Jeff Bezos, "He deserves every dollar he makes," I'd say and mean it. Because Amazon really filled a need, the 2-day prime delivery was reliable, and the TV shows and movies… wow.

But in last few years things have changed. With the covid pandemic I understood delayed delivery, but wonder why they keep advertising 2-day delivery when they aren’t doing it, and the pandemic has gone on more than a year, why can't they figure things out by now. For a year Amazon has had an awful policy of combining six - eight items into one box, holding back delivery until they can fill a massive box with huge items instead of separating them, even when I go to great lengths to order items separately, because I'm 73 years old, I don't want to lug huge heavy boxes to my door from the mailbox.

Then Amazon customer service went downhill. Another thing I used to praise about Amazon was their no questions asked refunding policy. Now when there's a problem and I contact the bot with a human name for "live chat," I get argued with, told it's my fault the glass bottle of soy sauce bumped up against other items in the box and spilled on everything, until I argue and argue and finally get a human.

Then came the final straw. I needed help sleeping so ordered Melatonin on Amazon, feeling safe as there was a big PR push recently that no more products from China would be sold there. The Nature's Bounty OTC medicine arrived (after about a week, jammed in a box with other stuff) and I took one pill for 3 nights and ended up with a horrible fungal infection in half a dozen places on my body, spreading aggressively. Obviously the medicine was impure, I did some research and it turns out Nature's Bounty was purchased by The Bountiful Company in China in January 2021, so likely the ingredients of the pills I was taking were toxic, not fresh, something caused this horrible reaction.

I contacted Amazon and told them about this shocking allergic reaction I was having and nobody cared. They just offered to refund me the whopping 12 dollars. However, you can go to Melatonin on their site and read the reviews, mine included, where dozens of persons are having horrible reactions to Nature's Bounty melatonin from Amazon. 

Yet it's still on sale there, even at a marked down price to promote more sales.

Through all this, I keep seeing that goofy look on Bezos's face as he plays at shooting rockets into the sky, while people are getting sick from the products he's selling with no quality control or oversight. I mean, no wonder he's so rich, he doesn't have to pay for malpractice insurance, he just doesn't care. He doesn't pay for quality control, he just lets the bots print your reviews and ignores them. 

The experience of shopping at Amazon went from wonderful to awful in less than a year.

Meanwhile Target has everything I need, the rest can be found at Instacart. ***

I hate watching Bezos fall, but he dropped the ball. He went from hero to just another rich guy who is clueless about the effect he's having on the world.

The last box I got from Amazon had three cartons of tomato sauce that were so squashed up some of it spilled onto other items. The "breathable cotton" head scarves I bought were the same cheap Chinese "satin" as the last ones I bought and cannot wear as they make my head sweat and so are very uncomfortable.  I accidentally ordered two Utz potato sticks and within minutes went to "my orders" trying to cancel one but the site would not let me, so I ended up with two of them, crammed into that one big box.

I am looking now for other online places to shop, using PayPal, which Amazon won't let me do, and totally enjoying the experience, because these retailers Want My Business and seem to care, like Amazon used to care.

Goodbye, Jeff, I no longer want to contribute to your billionaire status and really wonder how any human being can take all that money, and see all the homeless people and whole nations that can't even vaccinate their populations, and use your cash to buy a yacht to service your other yacht. You could write a check and build apartments for every homeless person in USA but instead you want to send rockets into space?

Jeff Bezos is not a visionary at all anymore, he's just another rich clueless jerk.

*** Although Instacart too is becoming weird about not letting the customer choose replacements if an item is sold out, they just send you whatever they want to send you. As a result I ordered "unscented" and emphasized "no scent please" at last Instacart order, and now have instead a sweet smelling fabric softener in my laundry area making the whole room smell like someone sweating with bad diabetes. But at least I can count on them to get to me within two hours.

They won the information war, wonder what is going to happen next...

“For God & Country Patriot Roundup” Wow what a totally made up concept straight from St. Petersburg, via the Kremlin, via Saudi Arabia. How better to round up enough Americans to create a massive crevice and tear us apart. This weekend's event is the last of more than ten years of information warfare against USA and who's the spearhead speaker but Michael Flynn. I can't wait to find out who he's been really working for all this time, last known foreign client was Turkey- hmm.

How did the bats get covid to begin with? I believe when the origins of covid are finally investigated, they will find it came from melting glacier waters from global warming. AND there will likely be more new (novel) viruses as Earth keeps heating.

Everything I read about climate change since 1970s said NEW VIRUSES would arrive as the planet heated. I first learned at NASA in 1978 that polar icecaps are melting. In America, when Facebook started in '04 and Twitter in '06 we embraced them with abandon.  In Russia they saw it as a wonderful way to attack us. Imagine, a roomful of KGB guys, all military officers.  Instead of the rigors of war on the ground, they're in a comfortable office.  All they have to do is surf the internet using their trained English skills and go to Washington Post, Alternet, all over the world. Open an account, create a profile, and start commenting.

The outright anti American tone of the comments used to shock me.  

Hillary Clinton used the words "information warfare" while she was Secretary of State.

Since 2013 I've seen the Russian footprint all over the internet.  I read a lot and so have learned- especially in Malcolm Nance books but several others since then- that around 2013, several Russian intelligence agents moved into a brick building in St. Petersburg and started posting comments on news stories in USA.  I noticed the arrival of the 'bots, as I read a lot online. As soon as an article showed up on a news site, the comments would fill up with right wing knee-jerk reactions. Dozens of them.  I'd wonder, could there really be this many people who believe this? Either they are all unemployed or someone is paying them. The 'bots on Twitter and Facebook are no secret today.  

The anti-American tenor underlying these messages was shocking and more obvious on Fox News, Twitter, and Facebook. Once they saw how easy it is to get Americans to believe things that are not true, that contradict our own history and Constitution, the intelligence operation got more brazen.  One America Network, 4chan, QAnon Comes out of nowhere without identifying its author and Americans believe it. It's astounding that we've allowed it to get this bad. This intelligence operation included a deep reading of our own laws, finding ways to use them against us.  Because of our First Amendment, we allowed this brazen attack to continue, and become more brazen.

Brazen brazen brazen. This week the Opposite World News reports the January sixth attack was little more than tourists passing through the D.C. Capitol.

Since 2013 it's gotten so much worse.  We're at the point that mainstream media are finally pointing out, "the Big Lie" we even have a sound byte for it. The Big Lie, they even say it on Morning Joe. 

I'm waiting for someone to point out: No one expected them to fly airplanes into our buildings either.

Information warfare got Donald Trump elected, he then prepared the way for environmental collapse, he started a Rwandan 1994 radio messaging campaign to turn half of America against the other half, and then the environmentally dying Earth produced Covid 19, with more new viruses to come as the planet heats…. Convenient, exactly the kind of event the disinformation laid the groundwork for. A mutated media machinery convinced half of America to be anti-mask and help spread a killer virus.

Now we have character assassination at a level I haven’t seen since the beginning of the USSR in early 1950s. Of course, one of the first victims would be Liz Cheney, daughter of Dick.

P.S. I don't think Russia is invading USA.  I think it's the same guys who flew the airplanes into our buildings on Nine-Eleven.  They're just paying for the Russians' espionage skills.
