whole back lot is fixed or 0:14 flooded. we got cars that are 0:16 going down. people need to be 0:18 helped. 0:20 >> yeah. major monsoon storms 0:22 tonight. slamming the valley. a 0:23 downpour starting this morning 0:25 and has been on and off all 0:27 throughout the day today. 0:28 mostly on though. it's been a 0:30 lot of rain. and good evening. 0:32 thanks for joining us tonight 0:33 on the news at four. the storm 0:35 packing a punch. hail, thunder, 0:37 lightning, dust flooding. all 0:38 of it happening across the 0:39 valley. 0:40 >> yeah, we had everything 0:41 today. we've seen a number of 0:43 water rescues today with cars 0:44 left trapped in high flood 0:45 waters. let's get to taylor 0:47 wertz right now. taylor, what 0:48 are you seeing out there? where 0:50 are you? 0:52 >> and mark and christina? 0:53 we're at 21st and university in 0:55 phoenix, and the water is 0:57 finally starting to go down. 0:58 but you can see every time a 1:00 car comes by, it's like a river 1:02 out here. and the rain is 1:04 finally let up for the first 1:05 time in at least an hour or so. 1:07 it has just been pounding and 1:09 phoenix police have been on 1:10 scene. as you can see, they 1:11 still are behind me directing 1:13 traffic, and we've seen 1:14 countless firefighters out 1:15 conducting water rescue after 1:17 water rescue, just trying to 1:19 help people. and this is an 1:21 area with a lot of businesses 1:22 and warehouses. and we've seen 1:24 so many people just standing 1:25 outside their offices waiting 1:26 for it to be safe enough to 1:28 leave. and unfortunately, that 1:29 just does not seem to be 1:31 happening anytime soon. here's 1:33 what some of them had to say 1:35 when we caught up with them. 1:36 >> it's crazy flooding rain 1:38 coming down hard. like didn't 1:40 expect none of this to happen. 1:41 we're all stuck right here. our 1:43 whole back lot is fixed. our 1:45 flooded. we got cars that are 1:46 going down. people need to be 1:48 helped. 1:49 >> it's all to come through. 1:50 small handful were able to make 1:52 it. but eventually we see cars 1:53 floating coming back down. but 1:54 i know over here our boss left 1:56 and he told us it's completely 1:58 flooded over there. they got 1:59 cars floating, people up past 2:00 their hood. so not sure exactly 2:02 how we're gonna get out of here, 2:04 but hopefully drains somewhere. 2:08 >> and we've still seen people 2:10 standing outside their offices 2:11 even at this hour, just waiting 2:13 for that water level to go down. 2:15 and tow trucks are another 2:16 common sight out here. just 30s 2:18 ago, one rescued a car just 2:20 across the parking lot there 2:22 and it goes without saying, but 2:23 if you do not have to be out on 2:26 the roads tonight, you should 2:27 not be. we even saw a waymo car 2:29 stranded in the middle of the 2:30 road. so stay home and stay dry 2:32 as this area is in a flash 2:34 flood warning until 6 p.m. in 2:35 phoenix. taylor wertz, fox ten 2:37 news. 2:37 >> yeah. thanks, taylor. be 2:39 safe out there. another water 2:40 rescue tonight in peoria, near 2:42 103rd avenue. and olive. five 2:44 cars were told got stuck in 2:46 that flooded roadway just 2:47 before noon. our cameras were 2:48 there as crews were working to 2:50 get all of those folks out. we 2:52 spoke with one of the drivers. 2:54 listen. 2:55 >> that's pretty flooded back 2:56 there. i just drove through 2:58 that flood. i'm pretty sure 2:59 it's up to my doors. it was a 3:02 little difficult, and i was a 3:05 little worried that i might get 3:06 stuck. no, they are definitely 3:08 stuck. there's a car hydrolock 3:09 probably right behind there, 3:11 right where i just came from. 3:14 >> and another one this was at 3:17 the i-17 and i-10 split. you 3:19 see, in that video, it almost 3:20 looks like the cars in a canal 3:22 that's not that is the ramp. 3:24 their water up halfway up the 3:26 car. very dangerous situation 3:27 for both whoever is in the car 3:29 and also the rescuers who had 3:31 to come to the scene. 3:32 >> several cars trapped in 3:34 floods near the i-10 and 3:35 buckeye tonight as well. we saw 3:37 tow trucks arriving there to 3:38 help get those folks out of the 3:40 water. man, you hate to see it 3:42 just stuck. there is not much 3:44 you can do once you're at that 3:46 point. a reminder if you do see 3:47 a flooded roadway, don't try to 3:49 drive through it. even just a 3:51 few inches can mean big trouble 3:52 for you. 3:53 >> and there's also a ground 3:55 stop to report at phoenix sky 3:56 harbour airport because of the 3:58 weather. according to 3:59 flightaware, all inbound 4:00 flights right now, they're 4:00 being held at their point of 4:02 origin until at least 430 4:04 arizona time. the average delay 4:06 right now is about an hour and 4:08 15 minutes. and the phoenix sky 4:09 harbour train, the sky train 4:11 there is not running right now. 4:12 there are buses that are being 4:14 used now to take passengers 4:15 from the sky train terminal to 4:17 the aeroplane terminals, but 4:19 you should check your flight 4:21 status before going to the 4:22 airport, and make sure to give 4:23 yourself some extra time to get 4:25 there. 4:26 >> let's take a live look 4:27 tonight. el dorado park in 4:29 scottsdale not much of a park 4:31 at this point. it is completely 4:32 flooded there. people are 4:34 actually boogie boarding. we're 4:36 told there's some folks sitting 4:37 on a park bench just watching 4:39 some maybe some tiktok videos. 4:41 maybe it looks like a father 4:43 and son. 4:43 >> got a wetsuit on. 4:44 >> yeah, yeah, they're just 4:46 taking it all in. hopefully it 4:48 doesn't rise too much more. but 4:49 yeah, you can see how flooded 4:51 that park is. it happens quick. 4:53 and there you see it. so let's 4:55 get a live look across the 4:56 valley right now we have some 4:58 more cameras to take a look at. 4:59 we got downtown phoenix, 5:02 glendale, tempe, the loop 101 5:03 at via de ventura, and dark 5:05 clouds all around and the rain 5:08 coming down. maybe some wind as 5:10 well. you see the camera 5:11 shaking there too. 5:12 >> and let's get over to corey. 5:14 he has been very busy today. 5:16 >> yeah, he's taking a look at 5:17 the radar for us. the rain has 5:19 been relentless today. 5:20 >> yeah we've got warnings 5:22 everywhere. everywhere you look 5:23 it's safe to say you are. if 5:25 you're not wet now you're going 5:27 to be poured on soon. so let's 5:29 get right to it. i'll take you 5:30 into more of a wide look here, 5:32 and then we'll close in and 5:34 show you your neighbourhood. 5:35 but you can see how intense 5:37 things are even now. and it has 5:39 been a relentless day. and of 5:41 course, when you have all of 5:43 this rain running over the same 5:44 real estate, you know you're 5:46 going to have flooding problems. 5:47 and they are everywhere. every 5:49 red zone you see there is under 5:52 a flash flood warning that 5:54 includes the entire metro area. 5:56 so be extra cautious. any 5:58 additional rainfall is really 5:59 going to cause some troubles. 6:01 i'll take the radar off just 6:02 for a second so you can see 6:04 these warnings. and once we get 6:06 them in line for you here, the 6:08 worst is this severe 6:09 thunderstorm warning. we'll 6:10 show you what's happening there 6:11 in just a second. and then you 6:13 see the rest of these areas all 6:15 covered by those flash flood 6:17 warnings. so let's get in now 6:19 and show you just what's 6:20 happening under this warning. 6:23 it's just passing by. florence. 6:26 this storm is an intense one. 6:29 we'll slow it down for you. 6:31 this purple zone that you're 6:32 seeing here is so intense. it's 6:34 right there along the 60. and 6:38 where route 79 and the 60 come 6:40 together. this is very, very 6:43 heavy rainfall. and now it's 6:45 turned white. it doesn't get 6:46 any heavier than that. again, 6:49 the warning is out until 430. 6:51 and this means that we're going 6:54 to continue to see obviously 6:55 this vigorous lightning and 6:57 these very, very intense 7:00 downpours. and if you're 7:01 anywhere along the 60 there, 7:04 please be extra cautious 7:06 because you want to pull off to 7:07 the side of the road for this. 7:09 this isn't something that you 7:10 would want to drive through. 7:12 and again, this would be out 7:14 the way from apache junction. 7:15 but this warning is in effect 7:16 again until 430. so gold canyon, 7:20 florence junction, queen, kings 7:23 ranch, gold camp, all of those 7:25 spots are seeing this very, 7:26 very rough weather. now, you're 7:29 not alone out there. as you get 7:31 over here toward fountain hills. 7:32 this area is really 7:34 experiencing some heavy weather. 7:35 also. we'll bring it in close, 7:37 show you your neighbourhood, 7:39 and all of this weather is 7:40 moving in sort of a southwest 7:43 to northeasterly direction. so 7:45 if you're up the way toward rio 7:47 verde, you have to be on the 7:49 lookout too, because this 7:51 weather is headed your way very, 7:53 very soon. but i would say 7:54 fountain hills is one of the 7:56 hardest hit towns right now. if 7:58 you're in the red zone, you 8:00 want to make sure that things 8:02 are, you know, lashed down, if 8:04 you will. i just got a call 8:05 from a friend in fountain hills. 8:07 she said, do you know a good 8:09 roofer? i've got three inches 8:10 of water standing in my bedroom 8:12 right now. so anyway, that's 8:13 the kind of day it's been. 8:15 we'll take you on a whole radar 8:17 tour of the entire state and 8:18 show you who's getting what. 8:19 here. you guys, in just a 8:21 couple of minutes. 8:22 >> all right, corey. thanks. 8:23 and the globe miami area was 8:24 hit hard by flooding last night. 8:26 and this morning as well. 8:28 >> yeah it was rough for them 8:29 yesterday. and then more rain 8:31 today. the cleanup is underway. 8:32 fox ten's kenzie beach joins us 8:34 live from that area tonight 8:35 with more kenzie. 8:37 >> yeah. christina. mark crews 8:39 have been out here all day 8:40 trying to get things back to 8:42 normal. where i'm standing 8:43 right now in this main roadway 8:45 behind me, hit with such 8:47 flooding. it was like a 8:48 complete river. and you can 8:50 still see right now. it's a 8:52 very thick, very wet mud. and 8:54 we've seen tractors out here 8:55 all day to show you just how 8:57 thick that debris was, take a 8:59 look at how deep this car is in 9:01 to the rocks, the sand, the 9:04 debris. and this is what was 9:06 carried on almost every main 9:08 street right here in the miami 9:10 globe, arizona area overnight 9:12 last night. and this morning, 9:14 the rain in this area pours 9:16 into this valley. it's nestled 9:17 between two mountain ranges. 9:19 and within minutes, the water 9:20 and the wash was filled with 9:22 rushing waters. crews have been 9:24 all over cleaning up debris, 9:26 the rain and floods bringing 9:28 everything in its path. i mean, 9:30 rocks, dirt, tires, trash. 9:32 we've seen it all. and tractors 9:34 are going street to street, 9:35 moving mud out of the road to 9:37 get them back open. today, 9:39 neighbours described just how 9:40 quickly things changed. 9:42 >> it came out of nowhere. we 9:45 got back to our home just in 9:47 time and then the the heavens 9:49 opened up and it just came. 9:51 it's it looked like a hurricane 9:53 had hit miami and the water 9:55 just came down. the visibility 9:58 was zero. 9:59 >> like instantaneous, like 10:00 boom. like it was literally the 10:02 strike of thunder. and the 10:05 street was full. 10:07 >> now, this wasn't just the 10:09 rain and the flooding. it also 10:11 brought very intense winds last 10:13 night coming up at five, we'll 10:15 tell you about one business 10:16 owner that had all the doors 10:18 ripped off of his business 10:19 because of last night's storm. 10:22 live in miami, arizona. kenzi 10:24 bech, fox ten news. 10:26 >> all right, kenzi. thank you. 10:27 yeah, a lot of cleanup left 10:29 there to do, that's for sure. 10:30 and possibly as we were seeing 10:32 more rain on the way. we would 10:34 love to see your photos and 10:35 videos of the monsoon. we've 10:36 gotten some great stuff in, and 10:38 we'd like to
