One thing I learned from Vietnam war era was whatever news stories you hear one side or another during active war, it will likely turn out to be half untrue years later, when journalists and historians dig through the dust. So I don't take sides now, a little old lady with a laptop and an internet connection can't know the whole truth, not even me a NASA trained researcher… I do know threat when I see it though, and four years ago I had a friend in the East who I spoke with on the phone a lot. She got me through watching the Jan 6 attack on the capital by a bunch of overweight bros who should a gone to college instead. We shared our shock and sarcasm and it helped me digest it. But my friend is not available to me as a friend anymore. She dived into the Gaza rabbit hole about a year ago and now everything she posts anywhere is about Biden’s slaughter of Palestinians- I mean- it's just not that simple- She was bright. She went to Berkeley. Now she might as well be MAGA for how much we can communicate anymore.
Strange times.
