The State Meteorological Agency has warned that the impact of Claudia is not limited to the islands. Its passage is also affecting the western half of the Iberian Peninsula, where overcast skies, strong gusts of wind, and heavy rain are expected. Galicia, the Cantabrian Mountains, the Central System, Andalusia, and Extremadura are under siege from a storm that continues to evolve and has 15 autonomous communities under orange and yellow alerts.
In the last few hours, the municipalities of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Icot de los Vinos, and Arona in Tenerife, as well as Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, and Agüimes in Gran Canaria, have reported multiple emergencies caused by hurricane-force winds and relentless rain. Power lines have been affected, dozens of homes have been flooded, several roads have had to be closed due to sudden landslides.

The situation has forced Puerto del Rosario in Fuerteventura to close the ports of Arrecife and Puerto del Rosario as a preventive measure, while the associated front advances across Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. On these islands, the storm has generated more than 200 lightning strikes in just a few hours, illuminating the early morning with a spectacle as impressive as it was dangerous. Meanwhile, in La Palma, the storm's force has left rainfall exceeding 100 liters per square meter, especially in high-altitude areas such as Roque de los Muchos.

In Tenerife, towns like Los Realejos and Candelaria have also suffered severe impacts with concentrated rainfall that has overwhelmed the drainage system and generated dangerous currents in urban areas.
Wind gusts have been another of the most alarming factors. In La Guancha, Tenerife, gusts have exceeded 100 km/h, and in El Hierro, especially in Sabinosa, the winds have approached that same intensity. These conditions have caused branches to fall, structures to detach and a high level of risk in cliff areas.
