Ayn Rand used amphetamine to finish her books and now US right wing politicians emulate her megalomania

Ayn Rand used meth to finish her books- I know because I met her literary agent back in the sixties when I temped in Beverly Hills, and according to people in that office, everyone knew; they gathered at my desk relaying stories to me. How her agent had to bring her bottles of Dexedrine, in order to get her to finish her novels. That's why the endings of all her books go on and on and on like a speed freak's rap rap rap rap rap.  Dexedrine was easy to get back in the fifties, but today rarely prescribed, because it brings on megalomania and paranoia, even psychotic episodes. And, if you're a writer, it makes you write and write and write.

I'm concerned today about this because the books of Ayn Rand seem to be a foundation of the weird politics permeating America today, her message that empathy is bad, caring about people who are not as well off as you is weakness.
