I don't need evidence that the planet is about to heat faster in the next few years; however, this post provides proof, because it is inevitable. Instead of emitting less after warnings, we've burned more, and the effect is now exponential. Global warming is not woo woo mysticism making weird predictions, it's physics. if you keep burning oil, the planet is going to Heat up; it's like a science experiment in a 7th grade competition. ************

Huge temperature rise in 2026?

A huge temperature rise threatens to unfold and it could do so as early as next year, as illustrated by the image on the right. Altogether, the rise from pre-industrial to 2026 could be more than 18.44°C [65.192 F] by 2026. The image conceptually dates back to 2016, when a strong El Nino came with a temperature rise that, when expressed by means of a polynomial trend that was extended by a decade pointed at a 10°C rise by 2026. Importantly, posts have over time pointed out that humans are likely to go extinct with a rise of 3°C and most life on Earth will disappear with a 5°C rise, as illustrated by the image below, from an analysis discussed in an earlier post. In the year 2026, it is time to have another look at how fast and by how much temperatures could rise.

KE: In the 1970s Jimmy Carter warned that our "addiction to fossil fuels" would damage the atmosphere, In 1988 when James Hansen made his brave appearance before Congress warning about the greenhouse effect, I was 7 months pregnant with Lizzie, so not paying a lot of attention. However, one weird thing stood out- 

The American auto industry came out with RVs and other humongous vehicles- one for every suburban garage, often two, that burn more gas not less- soon after Hansen’s presentation. Now they're everywhere. And we've seen what the right wing has done to fight development of alternative fuels in the USA.

In 2015, because I pay more attention than most people, I saw that Earth had passed the heat Tipping Point and moved from the Mojave Desert 6,000 feet up to a town near Lake Tahoe on the California side. I think I can ride out the coming climate crises okay up here where there's lots of fresh water and cool clean air, still. Happy New Year- ke
