I ended up running back to my apartment calling out "They're lying to you they're lying to you" like the guy in the opening of this 1978 movie trailer, after a recent incident in my HUD senior housing complex. My neighbors, their Fox News mesmerizing interrupted, turned into snarling bullies shouting "Shut up get out of the lobby if you don't like it" at me after I pointed out a lie coming from the TV screen. Invasion of the Body Snatchers is how the whole incident made me feel, what Fox News is doing to Americans while no one stops them. The network gets inside their brains and turns them into something other than what they used to be; and they communicate with each other with knowing glances and eye rolls, implying that they know something we don't know. Since I first saw what the network was doing in 2013, I knew that Fox News is an information warfare attack on the USA from within, taking our cherished First Amendment and turning it against us.

The incident last week
While I gazed at cans of soup in the free food section of the lobby, Laura Ingraham came on after commercials to announce, "here's something to make Democrats angry." That is not news, I thought, that is hate messaging directed at people like me. The TV in the HUD senior housing Lobby is broadcasting hate messaging so half the residents will know why they should hate the other half.
I am not exaggerating here, this is what Fox News is doing.
Fox is telling people lies designed to make us hate our neighbors.
While picking up my mail and messages last Wednesday, I saw our community TV was turned again to Fox with 2 residents watching, a report on jobs and from the White House I know it was completely false; and spontaneously I said to the two residents sitting there, that's a lie they are lying to you.
They did not ask what, what is not true about the report, they just started shouting shut up get out of here get out of the lobby if you don't like it.

I have a 50 plus year career as a journalist, My first jobs out of college were with NASA and the Navy in public affairs so I know what I'm talking about.

The word control is in quotes because they really mean something else. They mean they are going to turn on Fox News and force the residents to tear it whether they want to or not.
In the future historians will study this phenomenon of middle-aged and older low income Americans, especially women, who love with Donald Trump even though everything he stands for works against their needs. Those historians should look at 2015 when Trump orchestrated release of the "I like to grab them by the pussy" quote. I'm convinced he knew there was a population of post divorce women in this country who are lonely and live sex-deficient lives; and when they heard him say that, it sparked them internally and for the last 11 years they've wanted him to grab them by theirs.

One of the weirdest things to me as someone who has not been hypnotized by Fox News is the way my neighbors think they know something the rest of us don't know. I have a feeling if I took time to watch that horrible network, I'd see how they're doing it, but I can't tolerate 10 seconds of it because it's always lies every time including this situation I was standing there thinking oh no it's Fox News and within 10 seconds, one, Laura Ingraham was telling them here's something that will make your Democrat friends mad and then 5 seconds later and then right after that she's repeating the LIE from the White House that jobs are fine unemployment is down.
This is where you see that Fox News Watchers have lost critical thinking skills.
About a million people have been laid off in the last year in the USA and nobody's hiring them nobody's replacing those jobs, whole Industries are collapsing, and my mesmerized neighbors are sitting there with mouths hanging open believing the lies the lies the lies they're lying to you they're lying to you.

In the 2024 campaign every weekday at 2:00 p.m. a group of them would vacate the lobby and ride up to A's apartment where they would watch the five as if it was a message coming to them from God straight through Jesse Watters' plump and Pampered Hands.

it is really hard for me to see even 10 seconds of Fox News because every time I try, I hear them reporting something that I know is not true and it happened again Wednesday night here in my senior housing place where all the doors are locked to keep out people from the outside but the real danger is right here inside the building on TV sets tuned to Fox News.
Last Wednesday, it would have been nice for us to watch the Olympics all together as a joyful group, but Fox News and Donald Trump have ruined that probably for decades to come.

The producers of this propaganda have been doing this for decades. They knew exactly how to reach receptors in the brain that make the hate messaging on Fox News make a human feel so good.
What scares me is since my neighbors and other Fox zombies have been brainwashed over their TV sets into hating their neighbors, how long before Fox convinces them to pick up weapons and start killing their neighbors? It's called hate radio for a reason.
Back in the 70s and 80s I had jobs where I learned a lot about propaganda and using news etc to manipulate people, including tactics of the Soviet Union, because when I worked at Nasa it was in the public affairs office. USA was running joint missions with the Soviets, and Russian journalists were hanging around The Newsroom where I worked.
So the first time I saw Fox News in 2014 I said to the TV set, that's Soviet propaganda.
What scares me is the people who responded to Fox News were already receptive to the hate messaging. What scares me is I live surrounded by people who have fallen for this hate messaging and are vulnerable and receptive, ready for the next level of disinformation warfare.
So for now I'm just going to run down and pick up my mail at times when no one is around and just stay inside my apartment getting everything delivered; luckily I have a lot of windows, and there's ways to go out to the yard without interacting with too many neighbors. That's the way I have to live for a while. Maga did not make America great not by a long shot.
