69 mm/hour, 145 mm of rain in three hours flash flood- Global Weather Network report: 

Violent storms swept across Sicily on Saturday Sep 19, with Agrigento hit hardest as intense rain flooded streets and caused a section of road to collapse. One weather station recorded 145 millimetres of rain in three hours, while the most intense period reached about 69 millimetres per hour. The flooding affected multiple parts of the island. Palermo saw streets submerged, while stormwater entered the Franco Scoglio stadium in Messina. In Agrigento, one person was taken to hospital after a collision near the Valley of the Temples, while rescue crews later freed three people, including a child, from a flooded car in Palermo. The storms developed as a weather front moved in from the west, breaking a long spell of late-summer heat. Warm surrounding seas and incoming colder air helped drive intense rainfall, while forecasters had warned that storms could organize and remain over the same area.
