Global Weather Network: A slow-moving tropical depression made landfall in central Vietnam, triggering widespread flooding and violent landslides across multiple provinces. The system brought intense downpours to regional river basins, forcing hundreds of residents from their homes and causing water levels to rise rapidly along border towns The floodwaters tore three heavy barges loose in lowland Quang Tri, jamming them directly beneath a vital railway bridge. Rescuers and regional authorities are currently working to manage rising river levels, secure mountain infrastructure, and clear blocked transportation corridors amid continuous rainfall. In video, we look at the slow-moving atmospheric conditions driving the torrential rain, the emergency evacuations in western Quang Tri, the high-stakes situation at the railway bridge, and the ongoing rescue and clearing efforts across affected mountain passes.
