It is Pathetic when a campaign needs people to vote illegally to win, as anti VT advocates seem to want

 **

UPDATE I was right with that headline. The anti VT campaign can't win without illegal votes. I think they are MAGA Republicans from all over who only know how to win an election by fraud. From SF Gate June 18

Tahoe officials crack down on suspicious voter registrations as battle on second homes heats up.  If you want to vote in Tahoe's contentious election this fall, you have to actually live here   By ,Tahoe Editor

do County DA and Registrar of Voters clarify voter registration in South Lake Tahoe

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - El Dorado County Elections Department director, Bill O’Neill, issued an open letter to all voters to clarify where a person may register to vote and the importance of adhering to Election Law.

There has been a lot of concern surrounding voting and where one can register with the Vacancy Tax on the November ballot in South Lake Tahoe.

Letter: Registrar of Voters is intimidating eligible voters from registering at legal domiciles

Opinion - Saturday, June 15, 2024 - 8:03pmDear Editor: El Dorado Registrar of Voters Bill O’Neill’s letter to “Clarify registration eligibility” (see here) fails to address the issue I have repeatedly requested clarification about “retirement homes” that affects many of the property owners. I requested the Registrar to clarify the issue so that those who are legally qualified to vote at their retirement homes would not be afraid to do so....

(Both above articles are from South Tahoe Now recently)

CofA:  No one is intimidating people, the registrar is explaining the law. Most campaigns don't have to rely on people voting illegally to win.

Yet here is what an anti tax advocate commented on STN's Facebook real fast after the Letter above was published today at South Tahoe Now:

' "The continued misinformation and voter Intimidation from Bill O'Neill is illegal and unacceptable! South Tahoe Now , why are you posting this misinformation? You're better than this!

'Voting Rights Act of 1965. Section 11(b) of the act contains a broad prohibition against voter intimidation:
'“No person, whether acting under color of law or otherwise, shall intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person for voting or attempting to vote, or intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person for urging or aiding any person to vote or attempt to vote.” '
Blathering, babbling nonsense; when someone quotes the law to you, it is NOT intimidation, unless you are determined to break the law -ke
