Q Today weather alerts in place for South Australia with a scorching Heat Wave setting in for the week. Let's go live to 9 Adelaide reporter.  Will authorities near bushfire-prone areas be on the lookout?

A Jane we're going to have some incredibly hot and dry conditions that are just barely hours away from setting in once this sun gets up and starts getting to work. And it's likely to bring some extreme fire dangers here into the metro area but also right through the state.

Here today in Adelaide we are expecting a 31°c  87.8 f day and that's going to pretty much be the coolest it's going to get this week. Around in the mid-40s [45 c = 113 f] is going to push later on around Thursday and it's even hotter in your regional areas from the eastern states area and well into the mid north of roxbury downs looking around 46 degrees [114.8 f].

So yeah when that weather hits it's likely that people are going to be hitting the waterways and it’s also important to exercise Bushfire Readiness. Warnings heat health advisories and dehydration as well for eastern states  too, Jane, because heat wave-like conditions  are going to  push into the East later this week.

Q: Absolutely air conditioners will be on high. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BS6dv0TgB4

Temperatures are set to exceed 40° c / 104 f in some parts of the state. Let's go live to Jack Nihoff in Melbourne. Jack, good morning. What have authorities had to say?
A: Today, authorities have issued a total fire ban for Bendigo, Auka, Shepherd, and those surrounding areas, which means today barbecuing is an absolute do not, as well as using some power tools. Now, the hot weather today is just the start. Temperatures are set to enter the early 30s tomorrow in places like Atuka and Sheperdan, but it's really on Wednesday when things start to heat up. Here in Melbourne, we're expecting a top of 40° C / 104 F . And then on Thursday in places like Swan Hill and Auka, that temperature is set to hit a high of 45°c / 113 f. The hottest temperature in the state in Odin, just south of Majura. It's expected to be 46° c / 114.8 f now. Authorities are warning the extreme possibility of fire danger over this week as those temperatures arise, as well as reminding Victorians about the importance of water safety if they're trying to cool down. following four tragic drownings last week due to the hot weather across the state,  they're wanting people to be sensible near the water as well as being sun smart, ensuring using sunscreen and wearing hats in those hot conditions as well as checking on vulnerable family and friends uh who may be susceptible to that hot weather which can get particularly dangerous as well. Janie. Q: All right, Jack Nihoff. They're very, very hot indeed over the next few days across that southeastern- Sky News Australia*******https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQhrEopjRHY
