Transcripts here for readers writers and researchers.

Transcript- danger is growing in 0:06 Chelan County, and the state is 0:08 now mobilizing firefighters 0:09 because the winds are pushing 0:11 the labor mountain and lower 0:12 Sugarloaf fires closer to homes, 0:14 forcing officials to expand 0:15 evacuation zones. So take a 0:17 look at this map. There are the 0:19 those are the current 0:21 evacuation orders in Chelan 0:22 County. The areas shaded dark 0:24 purple are under the new level 0:25 three evacuation orders. That 0:26 means people there need to 0:28 leave now. The lower Sugarloaf 0:30 Fire is spreading south towards 0:31 cashmere, while the Mountain 0:33 Fire is spreading east towards 0:34 Blewett. Fox Thirteen's Shawn 0:36 Chitnis is on his way to Chelan 0:38 County. Shawn. Good morning. 0:40 How is the state responding to 0:41 these fires right now? 0:44 >> Aaron. Good morning. Well, 0:46 we know that they are sending 0:47 more resources. We have 0:48 actually seen some of those 0:50 fire trucks along highway two 0:51 as we've been making our way 0:54 towards cashmere. We're 0:55 actually just west of that. We 0:57 went through Leavenworth in the 0:58 last half hour. And as we got 1:01 into this area just outside of 1:02 cashmere, that's where we can 1:04 see the smoke really has just 1:06 covered the land in every 1:07 direction. And so again, as 1:09 more resources are on the way, 1:11 that is certainly going to be a 1:13 welcome sight. Snohomish County 1:14 Fire District four actually 1:15 tweeting out that they are 1:17 sending out reinforcements. We 1:18 saw one of those trucks this 1:20 morning. And they're joining 1:21 what's now going to be a 1:22 personnel of more than 1500 1:24 people. So let's talk a little 1:26 bit about what we're dealing 1:27 with in these two particular 1:29 fires. As that new request came 1:30 in last night from Chelan 1:32 County Fire District six. And 1:33 the state is meeting that 1:34 request. Most of the teams are 1:36 headed to fight the lower 1:38 Sugarloaf Fire, which is now 1:39 the biggest in our state. It 1:41 grew 2000 acres this week, and 1:43 it's burned more than 31,000 1:46 acres. That's about the same 1:47 size as the city of Tacoma. The 1:49 fire has cost the state nearly 1:51 $40 million. As for the 1:54 mountain fire, which is 1:55 spreading east towards Blewett, 1:56 it grew by 4000 acres this week. 1:59 It's now burned more than 2:01 17,000 acres. It jumped blue. 2:03 It passed yesterday and the 2:04 pass has been closed since 2:06 Sunday afternoon. The cost of 2:08 that fire has been nearly $12 2:11 million. So as we're getting 2:13 closer to where we know there 2:14 are evacuations in place and a 2:17 new shelter has been set up for 2:19 residents, we're going to be 2:20 able to hopefully give you a 2:22 better sense of what the 2:23 situation is looking like, as 2:24 close a
