Africa's icon burns. Wild animals turn to ashes. Fires started in southwest of park last week. Strong winds and dry vegetation fuel rapid spread. Massive damage to grazing land. Massive wildfires have destroyed about one-third of Namibia’s iconic Etosha National Park, burning through more than 34% of its land. The fires started last week and spread quickly due to dry winds. At least nine antelopes were killed, grazing land was wiped out, and communities around the park are at risk.
