encroaching catastrophe

I sensed coming catastrophe when I moved to South Lake Tahoe. I thought it was going to be from the climate crisis, because since the 1970s I've known about global warming and paid attention since then as the predictions came true. I came to this mountain top town in 2015 after it became clear that Earth had passed a turning point re climate. I got myself into a HUD senior housing building buried in the trees in a town at high elevation with lots of water. I feel, well felt, safe here.

I knew for decades we’d have the floods and fires we're having now.

I didn't predict the political havoc we are about to endure.

So I'm prepared, more or less.

I think even fascists won’t throw broke old people out of housing that was built for broke old people

It kinda scares me that this is a HUD building, as Housing and Urban  Development is an executive agency that is run directly by the President, and so Donald Trump could with a scribble of his name at the bottom of an Executive Order eliminate Housing and Urban Development.

In preparation I am paying every credit card I have down to nothing, Because whatever I need to do in the near future, I'll need my credit cards.
